The Cyber Security Professionals event takes place at York Racecourse this week: 20th & 21st April 2016.

The two-day event is designed to help delegates from across the wider public sector, private sector and third party sector to not just simply understand cyber challenges, but to find ways to address them, and to embrace the opportunities presented by a hyper-connected world.

Huntman Security’s Head of Product, Piers Wilson will be a guest speaker on the Thursday, talking about:

Dealing with “Expense in Depth”

The traditional approach to security is that of “defence in depth” – where layers of controls are deployed to handle a variety of threats and attack types.  Each of these controls incurs costs to purchase and operate, delivers outputs in different forms, requires specific skills and demands varying levels of operational effort.  What businesses need is more than just a way to consolidate the outputs.  There is a need to provide two way integration between controls to pass alerts across the layers and allows the gathering of information and context around threats and the necessary diagnostic information to be available in the event of a breach.
